Well, finished Blankets yesterday. It wasn't my first graphic novel, and it certainly won't be my last. In comparison to Neil Gaiman's The Sandman, however, I was not nearly as intrigued. Granted, The Sandman was in color, and was written by Gaiman (one of my favorite authors) so that didn't really help Blankets' chances. However, Blankets did have something that kept me wanting to read, something that I can't quite place my finger on. I doubt it was the art, I'm generally not one for art and most of the pictures looked rather similar, the characters were somewhat annoying, perhaps it was the writing. There were some quirkinesses to the Blankets that I enjoyed, so I'm going to go ahead and assume that the writing was what kept me reading.
Anyone have any other suggestions
